DC Black Label Announces ‘The Boy Wonder’ By Juni Ba

DC Comics has announced, as part of its May solicitations, its newest DC Black Label Batman-family book called The Boy Wonder by Juni Ba with colours by Chris O’Halloran and letters by Aditya Bidikar. The five-part series debuts Tuesday 7th May. And here’s what Juni Ba had to say about the book’s style and spirit:

“There is in Robin, something quintessentially fun and superheroic. To me, he is the epitome of childlike adventure and wonder. Coming from the generation of fans that loved Batman: The Animated Series, I want The Boy Wonder to capture the fun of episodic adventure, and the compelling characters in an accessible book that anyone can enjoy regardless of prior history,” Ba continues. “And I chose to do this with my favorite little gremlin Damian, for who better to teach us about heroism and family, than someone who, deep down, fears he’s not a good enough person to deserve either? The story will be fun, but tug at your heartstrings, too.”

When Batman leaves Gotham City, Damian Wayne must seek out the truth behind a series of abductions, bringing him into contact with all other other folks who’ve worn the mantle of Robin before him.
