WizKids & NECA Launch A Retro Strongheart Figure

Welcome to the table.

There are many icons in the long and vibrant history of Dungeons & Dragons but my favorite has always been, and will probably always be, Warduke. For the same reasons that I find Skeletor, a skull-headed blue man; Mumm-Ra an undead sorcerer cleric; and Hordak, an actual robot-Dracula, compelling, the fascinating Warduke is this mysterious figure with a wild set of mismatched armor, a sometimes flaming sometimes ice-coated sword, and a winged helmet that hides his face.

Little is actually known about Warduke, the figure I have tattooed upon my arm (yes, I have a large Warduke tattoo), but what we do know is that at one point in at least one facet of the multiverse, he was best friends with a paladin known as Strongheart before the power of the heartstone brought out his evil tendencies.

So it is an absolute delight to tell you that in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons, NECA along with WizKids is releasing a Limited 50th Anniversary Edition Strongheart action figure.

The team has reimagined this classic with a slick retro paint design and included with it a sword and sheath, dagger, and articulated helm visor. It also comes with a vintage-style cloth cape to really sell the retro vibes and the blister card packaging is a phenomenal tribute to the original release.

The only original D&D figure I own is a framed Warduke on card, but I know I am going to grab one of these Anniversary Editions of Strongheart, because this is just too good to pass up. You can pre-order your own at this link.
