IDW’s ‘TMNT: The Last Ronin – Re-Evolution’ #1 Gets A Second Printing After Orders Of 140K+

by Olly MacNamee

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin – Re-Evolution #1 hit gold with orders topping 140K copies and making it a sell-out success.

And co-creator, Kevin Eastman couldn’t be more humbled by its success:

“The reaction to, and continued success of THE LAST RONIN series goes so far beyond anything we imagined at any time during the creation process…  humbling is the best way to sum it up for me. The whole team just wanted to tell the best story we could. The fact we get to continue to tell more stories set in the TMNT Last Ronin Universe is another gift from the most incredible fans on the planet.”

IDW Editor-in-Chief Jamie S. Rich Added:

“We have a saying around IDW – ‘Never underestimate LAST RONIN.’ In addition to the numbers on this coming in higher than initial expectations, the fan reaction is once again through the roof. It’s just incredible how excited everyone is to see the incredible legacy of TMNT continued. Forty years down the road, and Kevin Eastman still has the power to wow us!”

If you’re lucky you may still be able to grab a first printing. After all, the numbers we’re quoting are orders, not sales. But, if it is getting a second printing, you may still want to go hunt a copy out now rather than later.

The second printing, featuring a new cover by the Escorza brothers, will go on sale on May 15th from IDW.
