Travel Across The Country In A Punk Rock Band In ‘Dustborn’

by Sage Ashford

Developer Read Thread Games and publisher Quantic Dream have released a gameplay trailer for their action adventure, cross-country roadtrip game, Dustborn.  First shown back in 2020, Dustborn places players in the role of Pax, a con artist with the power to weaponize language. After being hired to take a package across country, Pax has to find a way to safely evade capture while traveling across an America under the control of an authoritarian government.

After four years off the map, this overview trailer does provide a more complete look at the game. That said, at the moment the gameplay looks a bit slower than expected for an action-adventure game. Still, games like this are about character interactions as much or more than the action, so there’s still a chance this turns out to be a good experience. Plus there’s still a few more months left for the game to iron out any remaining kinks.

With some cool party mechanics and a diverse cast, considering it’s only $29.99 at launch, it’s probably worth a shot regardless. That said, there’s also a physical edition releasing for $39.99 which includes a ton of extra goodies, including post cards for in-game locations, a map of the new American Republic, a prequel comic book, and more.

Dustborn releases August 20th for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
