Cult Classic ‘Basket Case’ To Get Gross In 4K While Robert Altman Leads Arrow’s April Streaming Lineup

This April, Frank Henenlotter’s low-budget classic shocker Basket Case will be available for the first time ever on 4K UHD Blu-ray and will stream in 4K on ARROW.
Directed by horror film fave Henenlotter (Brain Damage, Frankenhooker), Basket Case stars Kevin Van Hentenryck as a young man who was previously separated from a conjoined twin named Belial. Together, they set out to get revenge on those responsible for the unwanted surgery.
The 4K disc’s artwork and special features have yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, the rest of the April lineup for Arrow’s streaming service has also been unveiled.
Before Robert Altman became known for such all-star satiric looks at American culture like M*A*S*H* (1970) and The Player (1992), he dipped his toes into psychosexual thriller territory with 1969’s That Cold Day in the Park, starring Sandy Dennis. It arrives on the streamer in April.
The lineup will also deliver Behind Convent Walls, a sumptuous slice of ’70s erotica from Polish filmmaker Walerian Borowczyk (The Beast, Immoral Tales).
Also in April, Arrow’s Selects series continues with films chosen from by Don Coscarelli (Phantasm, Bubba Ho-Tep) including Lucky Mckee’s The Woman, and George A. Romero’s The Crazies. Meanwhile, other curated collections focus on regional horror (Dark August, Driller Killer), “Sick Filth” (The Awakening of the Beast, The House By The Cemetery), bad magic (Wizard of Gore, The End of Man), bad drugs (Reefer Madness, Bad Acid), and bad kids (Over the Edge, The Snake Girl and the Silver-Haired Witch).
Plus six new episodes of the Arrow Video Podcast in which Sam and Dan discuss David Lynch’s Dune, Gamera: Guardian of the Universe, the Phantasm and Hellraiser franchises, and more. Also check out Arrow’s physical releases planned for May.
