One of the most frustrating things about finding new comics to read and enjoy is finding a good jumping on point. It can be confusing and disheartening to pick up a single issue from the middle of an arc without having the context of the previous chapters.
With that in mind, here are a few New Story Arcs, Series Premieres, and One-Shots that caught my eye for this upcoming New Comic Book Day, Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Godzilla vs. the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers II #1, IDW
Cullen Bunn goes back to the well, teaming up with artists Baldemar Rivas and Andrew Dalhouse and colorist Johanna Guzman.
Worlds collide a second time as everyone’s favorite kaiju (Cullen’s favorite, anyway) meets up with Earth’s mightiest warriors once again to take on the most fearsome monsters from both sides of the multiverse, with Rita Repulsa egging them on.
This time around, you’ll see SpaceGodzilla, Clawhammer, and Tentacreep making appearances. But what exactly does Rita intend to do with their collective might?

Immortal. Mercenary. Kind of a tool. Meet Simon Pure, the newest UNNAMED hero, created by Geoff Johns and Bryan Hitch.
I love some revisionist history. This piece has a British redcoat and all-around rogue, Simon, who mysteriously became immortal in 1776. His powers manifested after a run-in with a clandestine cabal known as the Founding Fathers. Key members of this group include George Washington, John Hancock, and many other prominent American Revolutionary War leaders.
Since that fateful day, Simon has led a life of adventure and avarice, rubbing elbows (and sometimes fists) with many of history’s most renowned figures, including his nemesis Benedict Arnold, Albert Einstein, Annie Oakley, and many more.
