Gwen Goes Big In ‘Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider’ #1 Variants
by Tony Thornley
After years on Earth-65, Gwen Stacy’s entire life is about to turn upside down as she becomes a permanent resident of Earth-616 in Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider.

Coming from Stephanie Phillips and newcomer Federica Mancin, the series sees Gwen give up her multiverse-hopping adventures to settle down in the prime Marvel Universe. Exactly why she does is going to be one of the series’ biggest plots, alongside grappling with the legacy of Gwen of Earth-616. Apparently, something is also preventing her from outing her arrival from her friends and allies Peter Parker and Miles Morales as well.
While it’s a shame to lose the incredibly rich alternate timeline of Earth-65, this definitely is a fascinating new direction for Gwen. It’ll be a lot of fun to see her react to parts of the universe that are vastly different from her home.

“Right after I started working on this new Spider-Gwen ongoing, I saw a little girl on Halloween dressed as Gwen and hitting some cool Spidey poses,” Phillips shared. “It was kind of a surreal moment to realize that I get to be a part of Gwen’s next big chapter, bringing her into the 616 and giving readers stories that make us rethink who Gwen is and what her role is within this new universe.”
