Dynamite’s ‘Terminator’ Comic BackerKit Campaign Hits First Stretch Goals Early

Last week, Dynamite announced it acquired the rights to The Terminator and set up a crowdfunding campaign on BackerKit to reprint vintage Terminator comics from the 20th century in chronological reading order. And after just a handful of days, the campaign has already received pledges above $120,000. Thanks to the swiftness of Terminator fans, the company announced the first stretch goal: a reprint of The Terminator: Enemy of My Enemy.

The original six-issue series was published in 2014 and represents one of the 21st Century Terminator series Dynamite aims to bring back into print. Written by Dan Jolley with art from Jamal Igle and Ray Snyder, and colors by Wes Dzioba, it tells the tale of biotechnician Elise Fong. In the future, she will uncover a weakness in the machines vital to the human Resistance. But in 1985, Skynet sends a Terminator to eliminate her before she can find the flaw. Her only ally: an ex-CIA agent already assigned to kidnap her.

The inclusion of Enemy of My Enemy will change the breakdown of the three-volume set, but it also represents the flexibility of the initiative. Beyond the new addition, the collection will include the following stories:
