Writer Skottie Young, artist Jorge Corona, and letterer Nate Piekos created a live stream to discus their upcoming series Ain’t No Grave. Young talks about how the story was initially conceived as a fantasy before they pivoted to the Western genre. Corona talks about his artistic influences including Arcane and Moebius’s Western comics.
Each chapter of Ain’t No Grave explores the five stages of grief. Much like Middlewest, the story comes from Young’s personal struggles married with a fantastic genre. The conversation is fun, lively, and insightful. We can’t wait to see Ain’t No Grave when it hits comic stores May 8, 2024.
