‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ Season 3, Episode 12 Provides Some Filler Ahead Of The Final Arc

After delivering a very meaningful episode that moved the plot along in a big way, Star Wars: The Bad Batch returns with what is, essentially, a filler episode. Omega (Michelle Ang) and the rest of the Bad Batch are separated — just as they were before — but now things are a little different. She is in a much different position than previously. Before, she was just leverage. Now, she’s an integral piece to the puzzle, although the true endgame for what the Empire has in store has yet to be fully revealed. Those are sure to come as both the season and the series wind down to their finale.
After Omega willingly went with Imperial forces last episode to spare the village, she was brought to the secret base, where the Empire conducted further tests to confirm that she indeed has the blood they are looking for. Meanwhile, the rest of the Bad Batch discuss ways to find her. Crosshair (Dee Bradley Baker) reveals that there is a former admiral being held in an Imperial labor camp who may be able to help. They stage a daring breakout in order to use him to find the base. Unfortunately, this admiral isn’t exactly completely trustworthy. So, the team will have to be very wary as they use his help in the episodes to come.
Besides some action, there really wasn’t a whole lot to offer from this episode. The ending provided some insight into Omega’s future. She will join the previously introduced Force-sensitive children. Fans will have to wait and see just how they will mesh together, which is something that will most likely be explored next episode. For the rest of the group: this episode was mainly about bringing in another character to help with Omega’s rescue who is sure to complicate things later on.
