‘Uncanny X-Men’ Are Big Damn Heroes In New Debut Variants
by Tony Thornley
X-Men From The Ashes is coming in July, and with it, Uncanny X-Men is returning for the first time since 2019. To come with the title’s return, we get to see the X-Men do something they don’t get to do often enough- be big damn heroes.

Krakoa has fallen. Professor X is missing. The X-Men are needed more than ever. In Gail Simone and David Marquez’s Uncanny X-Men, Rogue leads a familiar team to fill that need.
Making their home in New Orleans, Rogue, Gambit, Logan, Jubilee and Nightcrawler are still dealing with the repercussions of the Fall and Rise cycle. But when four young mutants arrive on their doorstep, they find a purpose and a mission. The world will see the X-Men rise as the heroes mutantkind- and the world- needs.
Pairing with Marquez’s main cover are four great new variants. The first is a full team shot by Marquez. Then iconic X-Men superstar Andy Kubert returns to Marvel with a retro team cover. Lucciano Vecchio spotlights Rogue in the first of a series of iconic solo images. And longtime X-Men icon Leinil Yu creates his spin on the team.
Check out all five covers and watch for Uncanny X-Men #1 on stands in August.
