WizKids Is Sprouting New ‘Pathfinder’ Minis Just In Time For Summer

When I was a kid, my first run-in at a table with a shambling mound transformed my perception of plants and how they could be used in a TTRPG setting. The Storyteller presented the sentient pile of moss, leaves, and vines as more of a curious elephant-like entity who was a guardian of the forest it was living in, rather than a clutching and crushing wad of verdant death. It really left an impression on me that to this day, as a game designer, I think about and strive to capture that same spirit of sentience in how I present living entities of nature in my settings and at the table.
My pals over at WizKids have also cultivated a really cool collection of spirits of nature with the Pathfinder Battles Leshy Window Box Set.
The Leshy or Leshies are immortal nature spirits that have been granted a physical form for a short amount of time. These entities act as guardians and emissaries of the natural world and are largely self-sufficient from the moment the druidic ritual used to summon them ends until they fade from the world to rejoin the space their essence was pulled from.
Aside from having a ton of cool game lore in Golarion, the world Pathfinder is largely based in, the Leshies also provide a new player point of view for those who want to try building and running a character that is even farther removed from the normal “Elf, Orc, Gnome, Human, Dwarf” fantasy roundtable.
The collection includes the Flytrap Leshy, Fungus Leshy, Gourd Leshy, Lotus Leshy. Seaweed Leshy, Sunflower Leshy, Fruit Leshy, and Cactus Leshy. These all look spectacular with clean sculpts and prepaints that really make them pop.
