The time has come, my wide-eyed adventurers! The Dungeons & Dragons 2024 Players Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master’s Guide are now ready for preorder!
These huge tomes are the culmination of years of work by the Wizards of the Coast team, active playtesting, and feedback from players and storytellers across the globe.
The Player’s Handbook is stuffed full of all sorts of new classes, spells, backgrounds, and skills coming in at over 380 pages, this book is the largest official player’s handbook for D&D that we have ever seen. You can pre-order at this link.
The Dungeon Master’s Guide is absolutely stunning based purely on the cover alone. I love the Warduke so much that my only current tattoo is the original black and white LJN box art from 1984 by Tim Trueman, so seeing him on this cover flaming sword aglow makes me so happy. The book will be revised and expanded for fifth edition D&D and will have a slew of tools to weave stories and build worlds. You can pre-order at this link.
The new Monster Manual is going to have so many creatures, new and old, with a streamlined stat block that has been touted as something that will make running encounters even more dynamic and engaging. You can pre-order at this link.

I have been looking forward to these and I know that when you activate them in the game, as per the live that is currently happening as I write this, they have said that the new 2024 player’s handbooks can run games with 2014 characters.
It seems, as I listen to the WotC team talk, you will want to run 2024 with all the new features and options, but if you have current long-running campaigns like my weekly D&D game you do not have to have your players rebuild their current characters to dive into the new rules as they are being presented.
