Mutants Take Manhattan In ‘NYX’ Variant Covers

The last time mutantkind gathered in New York City en masse, Magneto tried to take over the world and killed Jean Grey. In NYX a quintet of young X-Men are going to build a mutant culture, but this group will still be seeing challenges…

From Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, and Francesco Mortarino, NYX sees Ms. Marvel, Wolverine, Prodigy, Sophie Cuckoo and Anole facing the challenges that all young adults on their own face. However, they’re still mutants, and that also means hate, fear and betrayal from one of their own, as another young X-Man warps the ideals of Krakoa and tries to dominate the city!
“A lot of these [new] books, while there are some incredible solo titles, are X-team books,” Kelly told Polygon, who also shared an exclusive first look. “And they’re very much about X-Men solving X-Men problems. One of the things that we’re lensing in on is Yes, this is arguably a team, but they’re not a super hero team. They are a friendship, they are a community.”
