Genshin Impact Version 4.8 Takes Players To ‘Summertide Scales And Tales’ On July 17th

It’s that time of year again, as Genshin Impact releases yet another update, entitled “Summertide Scales and Tales”.  As indicated by the title, Genshin Impact players can expect a lot of summer-themed fun for the latest update, where they’ll be visiting Simulanka.  A story book world, Simulanka features some of the most adorable environments for Genshin Impact yet.

For a limited time, players will be able to enjoy new stories, events, and rewards, alongside new costumes for Nilou and Kirara if they have them. Kirara can be gained for free by playing some of Simulanka’s mini-games and gaining enough Starsail Coins to pull for the right figurines. They’ll also be able to get her phantom thief outfit by gaining “Excerpts of Bliss” from getting Jubilant Feathers and Fairytale Troves.  Unfortunately, players who want Nilou’s new costume will have to settle for paying actual cash.

Update 4.8 will also grant a new 5-star character, Emilie. A Dendro character, Emilie’s special abilities can deal more damage based on if an enemy is burning or not. She’ll also get a Story Quest, “Pomum de Ambra Chapter”, where players can learn more about her history and secret identity.
