The Hard Love Continues This Fall With ‘I Heart Skull-Crusher’ #6

San Diego Comic-Con is around the corner, but even that large event can’t contain every single bit of comic news. Ahead of the storied convention, BOOM! Studios broke the news that one of it’s latest hits is getting an expanded lifespan.
I Heart Skull-Crusher, a young adult post-apocalyptic sports series, is set to return in October with its sixth issue, upgraded from a mini-series to an ongoing series. From Josie Campbell (My Adventures With Superman, Amazons Attack), Alessio Zonno (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Angel De Santiago, and Jim Campbell, the series is set to wrap it’s first five-issue arc on July 17th.
Victory came with a heavy price, as Trini and her team won’t have the future together they’d dreamed of! What will friends who consider each other family do when they have to face… each other?! Murdering them is certainly off the table, and it will take everything Trini has in her to avoid the unthinkable, and survive her own new team from hell!
“Josie Campbell and Alessio Zonno have even more action-packed, hilarious hijinks in store for us,” said BOOM! Studios Editor Elizabeth Brei. She described the new story arc as “funny, chaotic, and shockingly touching”, saying they are “so excited for readers to discover the surprises still to come.”
I Heart Skull-Crusher is one of many original titles to come out of the award-winning BOOM! Box imprint. Other series from the line include the likes of Lumberjanes, Giant Days, Save Yourself!, Mamo, Ghosted in LA, Fence, and Goldie Vance among many others.
A collected edition of the first five-issues is set to ship on December 25 in comic shops and December 31st in bookstores. The rest of the story continues with I Heart Skull-Crusher #6 in October.
