This fall, a pair of Eisner Awards winners kick off Welcome to Maynard, a new fantasy mystery series! Writer James Robinson (Starman) and artist J. Bone (Super Friends) are teaming up to launch this new series from Dark Horse. Joined by colorist Ian Herrin (Minor Threats) and letterer Jim Campbell, the series will feature spells, sorcery, magic, mystery and first-class room service!
A hotel unlike any other, the Maynard is a place where every guest and staff member has magic in their veins. Magicians, witches, and otherworldly beings alike call on the Maynard for its services. Welcome to the Maynard #1 features Phillipa (Pip) Dale’s first day as the hotel’s new bellhop (and trainee house detective). Almost immediately, the hunt is on for a daring thief whose thefts are part of a bigger — and possibly deadlier — mystery.
Welcome to the Maynard reunites Robinson with J. Bone, whose clean-line European-esque style brings a bright energy to this series. While Welcome To The Maynard has magical mystery and danger, it is also a book filled with hope and joy, meant to appeal to all ages.
