Blake Northcott And Anna Morozova To Lead ‘Barbarella’ On Her Next Adventure

Barbarella is suiting up for her next adventure this Fall.

On Thursday, Dynamite announced the next series will see writer Blake Northcott and artist Anna Morozova take the creative reins. Fresh from saving the universe, Barbarella is looking forward to a vacation with Vix. But she soon finds the pleasure planet she booked a trip for is more than it seems. Also, the oldest Earth colony is decidedly off in recent days. Will she be able to solve two dilemmas across the galaxy?

The project brings the veteran of titles like Catwoman, Vampirella, and Fathom together with Morozova for the latter’s first major North American work. As you’ll see in the gallery below, it is the exact sort of art a Barbarella book needs.

“There are only a handful of sci-fi/fantasy characters who have endured for decades, and Barbarella is right at the top of the list, alongside Leia, Ripley, and Sarah Connor,” Northcott said in a statement. “Telling one of her stories is the opportunity of a lifetime — how could I say no to that?” Part of that opportunity includes more planet hoping than previously seen.

Supporting the first issue will be covers from Joseph Michael Linsner, Annie Wu, Richard Pace , and cosplayer Rachel Hollon.

Barbarella #1 is due out on stands in October.
