SDCC 2024: Amanda Deibert And Cat Staggs To Orchestrate ‘The Powerpuff Girls Halloween Special’ This October

The Powerpuff Girls are celebrating All Hallows’ Eve.

Just ahead of Comic-Con International: San Diego 2024, Dynamite announced the first expansion to its Powerpuff Girls publishing initiative: The Powerpuff Girls Halloween Special. Writer Amanda Deibert and artist Cat Staggs will realize the girls’ costumed trip through the city of Townsville this October. Buttercup has her eye on winning a contest hosted by the Townsville Gazette and centered on fashioning the best horror comic costume. Her quest may lead her to a potentially haunted hotel, but with nowhere to trick or treat nearby, Bubbles and Blossom will need to convince her to consider an alternate way to show off her costume and enjoy the festivities around town.

“I am so excited about this Powerpuff Girls story jam packed with pop-culture Halloween-eggs (is that a thing?) for horror-lovers and a multitude of mayhem and mix-ups with so many of our favorite villains,” Deibert said in a statement. “Nothing could be better than the Powerpuff Girls saving Halloween! This is a treat for us (and our Powerpuff-loving daughter!)”

Staggs added, “As an OG fan of the The Powerpuff Girls, getting to draw them is a dream come true. Getting to work with my incredible wife, Amanda Deibert, and mix it with my favorite holiday, perfection!”
