Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon’ Returns With More Sex and Violence
by Tito W. James
Rebel Moon is Zack Snyder‘s edgy Star Wars/Seven Samurai fan-fiction that he’s been trying to make for twenty years. The two-part PG-13 version of Rebel Moon streamed on Netflix last year and was universally panned even by die-hard fans of his previous work. The director’s cut of Rebel Moon has enough sex and violence to be on brand with the 300 style Snyder is known for. Rebel Moon looks like a hyper-violent video game cutscene with tentacle hentai thrown in. Snyder is very hit or miss — but I can’t blame a director who is self-described as the NC Wyeth of kitsch entertainment.
The part of me that has terrible taste will be tuning in August 2nd for the director’s cut.
