Kickstarting Comics: The Summer Of Love Begins With ‘Roxy’

I flagged this up to you a while back when it was announced, but the brand-new romance anthology, Roxy, is now up and running and wanting your hard-earned cash on Kickstarter.
It all comes from Rebellion and the Treasury of British Comics owning those vast archives of classic British comics, something they’ve made fine use of, both in some perfectly put together classics finally being collected and a series of reinvented and reinvigorated new tales of those classic Brit characters.
Well, a big part of the archive is some frankly beautiful romance comics from Britain. And its in the spirit of that, celebrating a genre that was once so successful and sold so many millions of copies, that we now have Roxy – the latest reimagining from Rebellion, where a ratehr impressive list of creators including Alex De Campi, Erica Henderson, Magdalene Visaggio, Sterric, Sarah Gordon, Nadia Shammas and Jaws Stone are bringing back a little romance into all our lives in this new 80-page anthology.
Rebellion’s a big company and it may seem a little strange to see them running this first Kickstarter. But it’s a comic outside of the normal wheelhouse of 2000 AD and the Treasury and, as such, this makes a lot os sense – as Kickstarter brings a lot of new and different eyeballs to a project.
I haven’t seen a copy yet, but I’m really looking forward to it. It’s fine time to bring a little romance into all of our lives!

Roxy backers can choose digital, paperback, or hardback editions, with covers from Tula Lotay, Hannah Templer, and Marguerite Sauvage. There’s plenty of pledge levels and extras, including the likes of Tote bags, art prints, and pin. It’s a worldwide campaign with shipping across the globe. The books should be with you December 2024 and January 2025.
