‘I Hate Fairyland’ #16 Returns Gert To Kansas In New Storyarc

I Hate Fairyland by Eisner Award winning Skottie Young (Ain’t No Grave, Twig) and Brett Bean (Rocket & Groot) returns this October kicking off a new “blood-drenched, Gert-tastic, story arc” from Image Comics.
Here’s the lowdown on I Hate Fairyland #16:
“Everyone’s favorite green-haired, ax-wielding, crazed maniac is back on her warpath this Fall. Deadpool meets Alice In Wonderland—In I Hate Fairyland, Gert is all grown up and has been living in the real world. Times are tough, and the only job she’s qualified for has her back in the place she hates the most…Fairyland.
The showdown begins when Gert’s biggest foe returns to Fairyland… and brings with them a legion of enemies ready for battle. Gert must sharpen her ax and prepare for the fight of her life and for the survival of Fairyland itself. But first, she needs to make a quick stop in Kansas to ask for a little help from someone that’s quite familiar with fighting against evil in far away fantasy lands. And she’s not the only one! You should go brush up on your classic fairytales and then jump in the action yourself!
Adding to the synopsis, Young states his love for Gert and plans for her near future:
“I Hate Fairyland is my favorite thing to work on, month in month out. We’re getting close to the 10 year anniversary of Gert being in our lives and I thought it would be a great time to make her come face to face with all the poor souls she’s sent to the afterlife over the last decade.”
I Hate Fairyland (2022) #16 will be out on Wednesday, October 2nd from Image Comics with the following covers:
