‘West Coast Avengers’ Returns In November With An Unexpected New Member
by Tony Thornley
Marvel Comics has a history full of iconic titles and heroes. This November, a longtime fan favorite returns with some of the publisher’s biggest heroes, and one unexpected new member.

Spinning directly from the conclusion of Gerry Duggan’s Iron Man run, Duggan and artist Danny Kim reassemble the West Coast Avengers with a team featuring Iron Man, War Machine, Spider-Woman, Firestar and ULTRON?! That’s right, Tony Stark is giving one of the Marvel Universe’s most iconic and ,frankly, evil villains a second chance. But Jessica and Angelica are skeptical of the android’s motives, naturally driving the series more than a little bit.
Duggan’s Iron Man was one of the strongest takes on the character in a long time and he wrote the relationship between Rhodey and Tony incredibly well. This also picks up his stellar work with Firestar from X-Men, which makes me look forward to where this series takes her.
As for Ultron, well, we’ll have to wait and see. The recently ended Avengers Inc did see a more heroic Ultron join the series’ cast. Is this that version of the genocidal killer robot, or an entirely new one?

These answers and more will be coming our way in November. Check out the covers debuted at San Diego Comic-Con from Kim and Ben Harvey and watch for more news about West Coast Avengers soon!
