It’s the 90th anniversary of the angriest duck in cartoons. To celebrate, Marvel Comics is giving Donald Duck a gift — a familiar uru hammer!
In What If… Donald Duck Became Thor?, Donald begins an average every day field trip with his nephews to find Viking artifacts. But when the Stone Ducks of Saturn invade nearby, Donald finds himself making an unbelievable choice. He will be picking up a familiar hammer and saving the day with the power of Thor!
The recent Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck/Wolverine one-shots were both a lot of fun. Seeing Marvel storytelling mixed with Disney’s famous worlds has made for a surprising great result. Writers Steve Behling and Riccardo Secchi and artist Lorenzo Pastrovicchio will bring Duckburg into the Marvel universe again for this special celebratory one-shot.
“When we saw the designs for the Stone Ducks of Saturn and The Destroyer we literally laughed out loud,” Editor Mark Paniccia shared. “I can honestly say I never thought I’d see something like this in my career. I gotta pinch myself to make sure it’s not a dream.”
