Webcomic Weekly: Nigel Auchterlounie Continues ‘Doctor Who: Dot & Bubble’

Webcomic Weekly, still confusingly titled, still profoundly not weekly, but still showing you some cracking webcomics in all shapes and forms. This time, yet another great from Nigel Auchterlounie…

Auchterlounie writes great comics in the real world for Beano, but he’s also regularly gifting us the delights of all manner of really clever comics on Twitter. And I make no apology for this being the fifth time he’s featured on Webcomic Weekly. As long as he keeps doing things so well, I’ll keep showing them to you.

So far, we’ve had had Farts, a 93-part strange sitcom, the Doctor Who parody Regenesis Of The Daleks, Myosotis, a very strange, incredibly well-done thing about memory, and the horror masterclass of All It Wants Is Blood.

This time, it’s back to the worlds of Doctor Who, specifically just after the end of the new Ncuti Gatwa episode ‘Dot & Bubble’ where (no spoilers) the lead character heads off without The Doctor to a new, supposedly safe planet…

Haven’t seen the episode yet? Then you’ll have no idea about this. Let’s just say that the character we’re seeing, Lindy Pepper-Bean, managed to escape the social media absorbed world of Finetime before she was killed and she and all her very similar pals headed off to somewhere new, somewhere that was meant to be their sanctuary.

The Doctor? Well, he tried to help, tried to save her, tried to warn her. But let’s just say that Lindy, in the end, wasn’t ever going to listen to someone like The Doctor and leave it like that. Seriously, go watch the episode.

As for Uuchterlounie’s take on it all, it’s a rather simple and low-key thing but it fits in so well with how Ncuti’s Doctor just wouldn’t be able to resist trying to help, even when he knows his help’s just not wanted…

Spoiler — he does call again. And again. It’s all very good stuff.
