Dynamite Sets November Launch For ‘Space Ghost Vol. 1: With Only Ghosts To Comfort Us’

As mentioned earlier today, Dynamite’s Space Ghost will soon wrap up its first story arc. And since the series has been so successful, the company is moving quickly on collecting the first six issue into a handsome collection.
Space Ghost Vol. 1: With Only Ghosts To Comfort Us brings together the initial half-year of story from writer David Pepose and artist Jonathan Lau. Opening in a seemingly lawless galaxy with an overwhelmed intergalactic police force, graft and corruption everywhere, and space pirates threatening innocent colonists, it falls to the mysterious Space Ghost to turn the tide. His first mission: helping Jan, Jace, their father, and their pet monkey, Blip, survive an attack from some of those space pirates. But who is Space Ghost and will he be powerful enough to take on the likes of Zorak and Brak?
“Combining superheroes and sci-fi with a universe filled with iconic characters and concepts, Space Ghost has been one of the most rewarding projects I’ve had in my entire career,” Pepose said in a statement. “Artist Jonathan Lau and I have been leaving it all out on the field for this series … whether you’re a newcomer or a diehard fan, we’re excited to show you why Space Ghost is one of the greatest heroes in the galaxy.”
Besides the first six issue, With Only Ghosts To Comfort Us will also feature a gallery of the alternate covers and a new introduction from Pepose. It will come in both paperback and hardcover with Francesco Mattina‘s cover art from issue #1. A limited edition hardcover will feature a cover by Michael Cho and Pepose’s signature. A paperback version of the limited edition will also be available exclusively to direct market comic book shops.
