‘Space Ghost’ Heads For The Planet Of The Beasts In A New Story Arc This November

Now that Space Ghost, his allies, and his enemies have been reintroduced in the first six issues of Dynamite’s Space Ghost, it’s time for the intergalactic vigilante to head into new territory in the title’s second storyline.

The company announced Tuesday that the comic will do just that with issue #7 by writer David Pepose and artist Jonathan Lau. The human heroes are trapped on a mysterious jungle planet. To escape, Space Ghost and his friends must tackle with the fearsome Creature King, a being who “commands a host of beasts to carry out his nefarious bidding.” But will it be Jan and Jace’s pet monkey, Blip, who has the chance to be the hero and defeat the Creature King? Other upcoming adventures will see the team battling Metallus, Space Spectre (a dark mirror version of the title character), and the Council of Doom.

“The intergalactic adventures are only just beginning in the pages of Space Ghost!” Pepose said in a statement. “While Space Ghost, Jan, Jace, and Blip have strengthened their bonds as cosmic crimefighters, the threat of Robo Corp still lingers throughout the galaxy. With new and returning villains lurking in the shadows, Space Ghost and his sidekicks will need to trust each other like never before … or else it may spell doom for the universe!”

The first issue of the new arc will also be supported by variant covers from Francesco Mattina, Jae Lee, Bjorn Barends, and Anthony Marques.

Space Ghost #7 hits stores in November.
