‘Mafia: The Old Country’ Readies For A 2025 Release

During Gamescom, Hangar 13 and 2K Games announced the latest installment in their long-running Mafia franchise, Mafia: The Old Country. Introduced as a “one more thing” during Opening Night live, not much is shown in this teaser trailer, though it does offer a few hints, confirmed by Hangar 13 themselves:
“Uncover the origins of organized crime in Mafia: The Old Country, a gritty mob story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily.
Fight to survive in this dangerous and unforgiving era, with action brought to life by the authentic realism and rich storytelling that the critically acclaimed Mafia series is known for.”
With a shift back to the dawn of the 1900s, perhaps Mafia can truly re-discover its roots and become a top open-world crime game again. For now, they’ve promised that more about the game will be revealed in December, which suggests an appearance at the Game Awards.
Mafia: The Old Country releases in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Steam, and Xbox Series.
