Anime Sequel ‘Bubblegum Crash’ Will Make Its Blu-ray Debut In 2025

After the crisis comes the crash. Time to suit up.
Bubblegum Crash, the 1991 sequel to the anime classic Bubblegum Crisis, will make its Blu-ray debut from AnimEigo early next year.
The follow-up takes place one year after Bubblegum Crisis (1987). Things in MegaTokyo are quiet once again, and the heroic Knight Sabers have split up and gone their separate ways. But when a new set of power-suited mercenaries bent on unleashing a dangerous new AI upon the city appear on the scene, the Knight Sabers must reunite to stop the threat.
Produced by Artmic and Artland, the new release contains all 3 episodes of the series, “Illegal Army”, “Geo Climbers”, and “Melt Down”. For some reason, Episode 2 is the only one that received a full restoration, while 1 and 3 have been upscaled for HD. Special features include liner notes, a trailer, and a restoration demonstration.
Bubblegum Crash will be available on January 21st, 2025 — including a version with newly designed slipcover exclusively at MediaOCD.
