Something For Under The Christmas Tree: Previewing The ‘Treasury Of British Comics Annual 2025’

This year, the old traditions of Christmas past are coming back, as new 2000 AD and Treasury of British Comics annuals will be appearing under the tree and in X-Mas stockings the country over.
Yes, it’s a nostalgic memory, opening up all of your pressies on Christmas morning, knowing that the one hardback-sized present was going to be an annual of your favourites. For many years, the 2000 AD annuals were part of that tradition until, in the ’90s, things changed and the annual was no more.
But all that changes Christmas 2024 as we not only have the 2000 AD annual 2025, but also a big hardcover of classic Brit comics and new strips from The Treasury of British Comics. We’ve told you all about the 2000 AD annual here, but now we have more details of what to expect in The Treasury of British Comics Annual.
If you didn’t know, The Treasury is the vast repository a major portion of all Brit comics from last century, with a huge archive acquired by Rebellion, publishers of 2000 AD. Over the last decade, they’ve not only been collected and lovingly restoring some much-loved strips of days gone by but have been creating new comics featuring beloved characters of Brit comics history.
The Treasury Annual is a perfect way to not only give us three new strips – featuring Simon Furman and Mike Collins on Kelly’s Eye, Alec Worley and Anna Morozova on Black Beth, and Paul Grist and Simon Williams on Robot Archie – but also to gather together one-off strips and examples of the incredible breadth of Brit comics. So, expect short works by the likes of Carlos Ezquerra, Mike Western, Mick McMahon, Leo Baxendale, and John Burns, and plenty more besides.
It’s a big 112 pages hardback, available from comic shops and certain massive online merchants from 6 November, with a regular cover by David Roach and a Treasury of British Comics webshop-exclusive cover by Andreas Butzbach.
