Great For Road Trips Or Just Hanging Out At Home– Ultra Pro’s ‘Pokémon Trainer Guess Unova Edition’

As you may know, I want to be the very best, like no one ever was. To catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause. As someone who has attempted to catch at least one of every Pokémon in every game, having a keen understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, and the environments they inhabit has been a skill that has provided invaluable as I wander through the tall grass clashing with random jugglers and avoiding overly combative kids in short pants.
Of course, to retain this knowledge, study is required. Between binging episodes of the cartoon (mostly because those are hilarious) and taking notes, it can become a jumbled mess from time to time to remember everything, I think that is why I like the Trainer Guess toys from Ultra Pro so much. 
Recently, they sent me the Unova Edition of the Trainer Guess toy. We have had a ton of fun playing with this thing. It’s a fairly easy interface. You just push the button on the Pokéball and it asks you to think of a Pokémon, and through the process of yes and no questions it can dig down to whatever Pokémon you are thinking of from the Unova region.
For me, that is the hardest thing to remember when playing. Often I found myself thinking from Pokémon from other regions and the ball would be unable to guess what I was thinking of. It’s helpful that there is a Trainer Field Guide that you can track your progress in the game with, and also use as a visual guide to know what Pokémon you are picking from.
This is the kind of toy that is perfect for a car ride, or just hanging out goofing around with a Pokémon theme. If you are trying to score one for yourself, I have seen these at Target on the shelf and they are indeed impossible for me not to play with for a few min just hanging out in the store. Honestly at the price point and for the sheer amount of playability, this is easily on my list of Gifts for Gamers going into the holiday season.
