NYCC 2024: Jeff Parker And Alessandro Ranaldi Take Control Of ‘Zootopia’ At Dynamite

by Erik Amaya

The Disney line at Dynamite expands into its most colorful municipality yet.

On Monday, just a few days before New York Comic Con 2024 begins, the company announced the creative team further details and a release window for their upcoming Zootopia comic book. Writer Jeff Parker and artist Alessandro Ranaldi will chronicle the further adventures of Officers Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they try to keep the city right as rain.

As the series begins, the town is excited to see the latest product launch from Tripp Zebrando and his PB&J cell phone company. It’s a major update to their flagship device and the stakes are pretty high … which is why the event becomes a prime target for sabotage. But will the event space itself take the brunt of the damage? It’s up to Hopps and Wilde to get to the bottom of the case, maintain the peace, and find the person or persons who have it out for PB&J. And if just happens to lead to the biggest collar since they took down Deputy Mayor Bellwether in the film, well … that could just be another day in Zootopia.

In a statement, Parker said, “The team and I know how eager the audience has been for more stories in the world of Zootopia and we thank Disney for giving us the chance to tell them. Readers are going to love how Alessandro brings Judy and Nick to life, you can truly hear their voices as you read. Speaking of that, all I have to do to get Nick Wilde’s voice right is imagine editor Nate Cosby saying anything. And don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of the booming Chief Bogo! Zootopia has so much potential for more crime-solving animal adventure, I hope this is just the tip of the iceberg for the Dynamite Disney comics.”

Supporting the first issue are covers from Ranaldi, Trish Forstner, Craig Rousseau, and one featuring artwork from the original film.

Zootopia #1 arrives in shops this January.
