Another in a growing series of books from 2000 AD highlighting some of the finest artists ever to have graced the pages of the Prog. This time it’s The Judge Dredd Art of Jock, featuring the art of… well, Jock.
Although he’s moved on to huge things over in the US with The Losers, Hellblazer, Detective Comics, and his new creator-owned series at DSTLRY, Gone, plus a hell of a lot of movie work, like so many Brit artists who make it huge, Jock’s debut as an artist came in 2000 AD. For many years, his distinctive and stylish visuals were all over the Prog — Judge Dredd, Lenny Zero, Tor Cyan, and plenty of really gorgeous covers.
So, The Judge Dredd Art of Jock is exactly what you think it will be, a massive coffee table-style art book looking at his life and work, particularly focused on his Dredd work, including his design and concept work for the 2012 Dredd movie. Jock himself has been heavily involved in the book, which will also feature a big interview with 2000 AD‘s Mike Molcher.
The hardback will be a rather large 282 × 216 mm (11 × 8½ inch), perfect for displaying all that ever so great artwork. The Judge Dredd Art of Jock will be released in May 2025 in hardback edition.
