Marvel Reveals ‘All-New Venom’ #1 Covers

by Tony Thornley

Marvel’s Venom War promises to change the character forever. One of those changes is a host unlike any other, and All-New Venom will reveal exactly who it is.

Marvel superstar Al Ewing continues his Venom run with the relaunched title in December, joined by rising star Carlos Gomez. Marvel’s most popular anti-hero is back in New York City and having a lot of fun. Exactly who’s bonded to the symbiote will be a mystery that spans the entire first story arc.

Is it the Journalist? The Terrorist? The Sidekick? Or the Mayor? All the clues will be there for readers to decipher.

On narrowing Venom’s scope, Ewing told Polygon, “So we take a swing away from the big cosmic thing. The pendulum swings away from that and back into a much more intimate, character-based story, but also has a lot of that ground-level super hero action, where it’s less about cosmic entities battling in each other’s mindscapes, or mysterious zones beyond time, and much more on the street — slinging webs, slinging chains, doing the Venom thing. It’s almost like my return to an old-school sort of super hero comic, but with a couple of twists that we’re gonna have fun bringing in.”

Check out the first covers for the debut issue from Skan, Stephen Platt, Adam Kubert, Humberto Ramos, Chris Giarusso, Iban Coello, and Giuseppe Camuncoli.
