A sellout back in May, now’s your second chance to get the complete Scream! – classic Brit comics horror!…

.
The complete Scream! collection sold out its entire print run before publication back in May, meaning plenty of fans went without. Now the Treasury of British Comics have announced a much-needed reprint volume of the hardcover collecting everything ever published in the short-lived but much-loved Scream! comic from the ’80s. The reprint comes out in November, perfect timing for Christmas pressies.
The collection celebrates the 40th anniversary of a comics that only ran for 15 weekly issues before merging into Eagle, but it’s always been held in really high regard, and you can see just why from the list of creators involved, including Alan Moore, José Ortiz, John Wagner, Cam Kennedy, Alan Grant, and a young Steve Dillon.
When it was planned, the idea was for it to dial down the horror – remember, this was a UK comic market still smarting from the furore over Action and the media backlash from that in the late ’70s – and go more tongue in cheek. So, helmed by the mysterious ‘undead’ editor Ghastly McNasty, we got 15 weeks of top-notch horror that still stands up really well to this day, mostly down to the creators involved not really getting the whole, ‘let’s tone it down a bit’ memo.

This from Rebellion’s senior graphic novels editor Keith Richardson:
‘Scream! was such an iconic and beloved title, so it was gratifying to see just how many people remember it and wanted to revisit its incredible stories. We’ve had so many requests to reprint the hardcover edition and I’m delighted that bring such a sumptuous collection to even more people.’
So, one more chance to get a sink your teeth into another slice of great Brit comics history!
