Marvel’s New Ultimate Universe Kicks Off Year 2 With Special Variant Covers

Marvel Comics’ new Ultimate Universe has gripped fans since its debut in January of this year. As the titles begin to end their first year, the publisher has announced a new series of variant covers to celebrate.
Ultimate Invasion created a completely new Marvel Universe, in which the Maker meddled in the progression of the Marvel Universe we know and love. The villainous version of Reed Richards ruled this Earth alongside a brutal secret society. After Howard Stark unseated him, the war to dismantle the power behind the throne began. And it began with restoring the world that the Maker destroyed.
After progressing their stories in real time, each series has seen their heroes change drastically. Popular cover artist (and Pixar artist) Benjamin Su has created special foil variants for the thirteenth issues of Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, Ultimate X-Men and The Ultimates. Marvel has revealed the first two — for Spider-Man and Black Panther.
In Ultimate Spider-Man #13, Peter Parker becomes prey as he faces Kraven the Hunter for the first time. In Ultimate Black Panther #13, T’Challa needs help in his war against Khonshu and the Moon Knight. This leads him to asking for help from the enigmatic Sorcerer Supreme!
