‘Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition’ Coming To Nintendo Switch In 2025

by Sage Ashford

In one of the most unexpected announcements of the year, Nintendo and Monolith Software revealed on Tuesday that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch. Based on the Western version of the original Wii U title, this game will come with all the improvements of the original game, but that’s not all. Nintendo has confirmed this game will receive enhanced visuals and additional story elements, alongside other content.

Given that Xenoblade Chronicles X had a cliffhanger ending, the additional story elements seem like a no-brainer. The end of the trailer even offers hints as to what else they might be adding. As for other elements … could more SKELLs be in the works?  Or even more BLADE members?

What’s perhaps most surprising: this announcement pretty much confirms the Switch successor is still a good ways off.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition launches March 20th, 2025.
