Jumping On: Series Premieres, One-Shots, And Story Arcs Kicking Off On November 13, 2024

One of the most frustrating things about finding new comics to read and enjoy is finding a good jumping on point. It can be confusing and disheartening to pick up a single issue from the middle of an arc without having the context of the previous chapters.

With that in mind, here are a few New Story Arcs, Series Premieres, and One-Shots that caught my eye for this upcoming New Comic Book Day, Wednesday, November 13th, 2024.

If you try to say you didn’t sing that out loud just now, I’ll say I believe you, but we both know I don’t.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie pester their Uncle to share more yarns of his legendary quests and globetrotting treasure hunts. The three boys are about to learn that the most valuable item Scrooge McDuck owns isn’t locked up in his absurdly capacious Money Bin. It’s a lifetime of wisdom he’s got stockpiled inside his head.

Starved Rock #1, Blood Moon Comics

A group of hunters accidentally kill a famed local deer, an ancient deity is awakened, and the only way to survive is to venture deeper into the forest.

String #1, Mad Cave Studios

Yoon-Sook Namgung is a 25-year-old Korean-American woman with the remarkable ability to see two types of “strings” connecting various people. The first is blue and stretches between sexual partners. The second, dark black, connects murderers and their victims. 

If you have a murder that needs solving, Yoon can help. Worried your partner is cheating on you? Yoon can literally see the connections. Yoon’s life, for all the drama and constant TMI, is good, at least until the day she notices a string, a black string, connected to… herself! 

This means she’ll either soon murder someone, or be murdered herself! So…dang. Which one?
