Gift Guide For Gamers 2024: UniVersus ‘Vox Machina’ And ‘Mighty Nein’ TCG Decks

‘Tis the season for rad stuff to gift your friends and love ones … or yourself, if we are being totally honest. While the collectible card game space can sometimes be daunting to explore, I have always found that UniVersus’ ability to find popular settings and characters from the pop culture landscape and turn them into cool card games is nothing short of charming.

As someone who loves collectible cards and gaming, the cross section where UniVersus lives is one I frequent often. For those who may have only heard of them and their work in the anime themed spaces, let me introduce you to two of the decks they sent me, which are now on my 2024 Gift Guide For Gamers.

Most TTRPG fans will instantly recognize the names Vox Machina and Mighty Nein. UniVersus has two decks to offer as part of their Challenger Series based off these adventuring parties from the home game turned streaming game, turned “is it Thursday?”, turned Amazon animated series, turned so many other things across the pop culture space.

Each of these decks is pre-constructed with 60 cards featuring fan-favorite characters and their iconic exploits. These decks are truly a fan’s dream collectible. The cards not only showcase characters like Vex, Vax, Jester, Percy, Trinket (the bear… I’m sure most of you know who Trinket is but just in case), Scanlan and more, but they also have a callouts to the Chroma Conclave, the Whispered One, legendary weapons, and powerful allies from across the two campaigns.

The art from both decks is 100% exclusive to the UniVersus line so that makes them extra special as collectibles. There are special chase cards, including parallel foil variants that come in the booster packs. These cards feature alternate art that really shines … pardon the pun.

If you are a long time player of the UniVersus trading card game, a fan of Critical Role, or just someone who likes cool stuff in the TTRPG and gaming space, this is one of the coolest collectible offerings I’ve seen in a bit.

These make fun, inexpensive stocking stuffers or gifts for your gaming friends. This could be a cool addition to a D20 rolling version of secret Santa or just something to a loved ones every growing hoard of gaming goodies … did I mention there was a card of Trinket?
