Mad Cave Studios Announces Two Gold Titles For Free Comic Book Day 2025

Free Comic Book Day 2025 falls on May 3rd. The event, which is hailed as the biggest event in the entire comic book industry, is a single day when participating comics shops around North America give away free comics to anyone who comes into their shops. Founded on the belief that for every person out there, there’s a comic book they’ll love, the annual event offers a huge selection of free titles designed to appeal to a broad range of age levels and tastes.
This Free Comic Book Day, Mad Cave Studios and its Papercutz imprint will debut two Gold titles including Speed Racer #0, packed with pulse-pounding action, and Disney’s Phineas and Ferb, full of laughs and adventure.
Speed Racer #0
From writers David Pepose and Mark Russell comes an all-new continuation of Tatsuo Yoshida‘s classic manga/anime, MachGoGoGo, known to Western audiences as Speed Racer.
Pepose takes the wheel on the featured story in issue #0, which ignites Mad Cave’s ongoing Speed Racer series. Meanwhile, Russell drives a backup tale that leads directly into a Racer X spin-off series.
One part Drive, another part Baby Driver, and another part Fast & Furious, with classic anime/manga inspiration throughout, fans new and old are given a front-row seat to exciting tales of action, adventure, overcoming challenges, and family.
Disney’s Phineas and Ferb
From Disney’s Phineas and Ferb writers Scott Peterson and Joshua Pruett comes two FCBD 2025 stories in one. When Dr. Doofenshmirtz tries to use Free Comic Book Day to take over the Tri-State Area, his inator sends Doof and Perry the Platypus into another comic book, a story featuring Phineas and Ferb. Can Perry stop Doof and escape the comic before the whole thing self-destructs? Find out Saturday, May 3rd, 2025!
