Gift Guide For Gamers 2024: Games Workshop’s ‘Da Red Gobbo’s A-Bomb-Inable Snowman’

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

Special thanks to my pals at Games Workshop who sent this delightful mini over. It was a brilliant way to kick off my holiday season.

What is this delightful little mini, you may ask. Why did it make my 2024 Gift Guide for Gamers? This is Games Workshops Da Red Gobbo’s A-Bomb-Inable Snowman. I like it because, unlike a certain bearded totalitarian who imposes his moral dogma on the youths of the world while they are sleeping or awake, when Da Red Gobbo shows up, he spreads chaos and cheer, not cookie eating fear.

Games Workshop, maker of rad space marines, fun books, and timeless lore, has released a collectible that just fits into the holiday landscape of a Gift Guide for gamers. What I really dig about this kit is that it’s perfect for players, collectors, painters, and people who just like to add cool things to their shelf or table top.

Using the provided parts, you can build Da Red Gobbo in all his holiday chaotic cheer, along with a minion, and the A-Bomb-Inable snowman packed with a really amusing hidden surprise. It’s all set atop a scenic base that smacks of sleigh bells and roasting fires that will keep you warm for the rest of your life… however short that may be. Said fires will breach the halls of your base, rhino, megalith, or other structure you feel is safe from Da Red Gobbo’s particular brand of holly-jolly.

Da Red Gobbo’s A-Bomb-Inable Snowman is such a cool addition to Warhammer‘s Commemorative series. It provides a fun little diorama kit that just works on both a game piece and project level. The ease of construction makes it an easy lift for a evening at home in front of a holiday movie while sipping coco. Its holiday vibes make it perfect if you want to snap a few of them up and throw a festive paint-party for your gaming friends.

The big thing here, friends, is that you don’t want to wait to long on this. They are already showing up on some secondary markets . Once the stock is gone, it’s gone. So if you want one, you need to grab it now at this link.

My plan this holiday season is to try and take things a little slower and more intentional. I have already started trying to set some time aside for mini painting to unplug. I will update with photos of the finished Red Gobbo when I get him looking his holiday best.

Until next time, I have been really impressed with Games Workshops offerings over the last few months. I can’t wait to tell you more about what they have coming to the forefront. It’s really a Golden Age of table top gaming. As someone who grew up around Warhammer 40,000 and fantasy, there has never been a time in my life where I feel like the game was more accessible to new players than it is now.
