Gift Guide For Gamers 2024: Rollacrit’s ‘Bag Of Holding’

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

The clawing grip of gift giving holly jolly is on the horizon. Old Anton has you covered when it comes to figuring out what gifts may be great for the gamer in your life. This particular gift suggestion comes packed with a bunch of nostalgia for me.

For almost a decade, I have had a messenger bag that is D20 themed. It has a spacious interior, comfortable straps that fit over the back of my wheelchair, and a semi-adhesive cloth like surface that patches could affix to. It also has this cool little metallic D20 embedded into it and a D20 zipper pull.  It’s durable, spacious, and has traveled with me across countless conventions and states as I wander the world finding the best and brightest in gaming and bring them to you.

What I have to tell you about today is not my bag … but it is related, and arguably even cooler. What I bring you in this installment of the 2024 Gift Guide for Gamers is the Rollacrit Bag of Holding.

Now, my Bag of Holding came from a little company known as ThinkGeek. A member of their marketing team, Erin Zipperle — a unique individual with a rather delightful story we will get into at another time — would go on to form a consulting company and eventually the organization known as Rollacrit. While ThinkGeek is a bit of an icon of the past, Rollacrit is goings strong with apparel, accessories, dice, the fun drinking/TTRPG game Heroes of Barcadia (more on that soon as well) and a brand new Bag of Holding.

The new Bag of Holding is made with a durable washed canvas exterior with reinforced corners. Rollacrit touts it can hold up to 50lbs. The zippers on this new Bag of Holding are double stitched with strong latches and a heavy duty E-ring to keep it all secure.

The updated Bag of Holding comes with a ton of pockets as well. You can keep your tech, books, dice, minis, and more all separated and safe. My favorite part is that there is a fully padded laptop pocket to keep your laptop or tablet safe in.

As someone who has to travel all the time with a laptop in hand as I write on the go, a good laptop pocket can make or break a deadline . If I pick a bag to travel with, it is often the second thing I check for when shopping for bags. The first being straps and if it can fit over my wheelchair, as this can. It can also switch into messenger bag mode for those who want a cross body fit to wear on the go. The bag is also TSA and FAA-approved as a carry on luggage item.

From a purely design perspective it’s also rad because it has a cool D20 themed lining that just adds to the aesthetic of the whole thing. It’s “gamer,” but it does not look like something you are grabbing off a rack. It feels evolved.

While it’s a leveled up version of my tried and true, the Rollacrit’s Bag of Holding is indeed something special and if you have a gamer on your list (or just want to grab something cool for yourself this holiday season), you should look into scoring one of these Bags of Holding. You will thank me next time you start to pack for a weekend adventure.

Until next time, if you put one of these into another one they will not explode and there is no pathway to the Astral Plane within the folds of this bag… that I know of.
