Watch The New Gobelins Animated Short ‘Dare To Be Fabulous’

To prove himself to his gangster father, Alessandro decides to rob a bar, only to discover that’s it’s a bar for drag queens. Dare to be Fabulous is another Gobelins animated short that explores queer identity in a humorous, empathetic, and creative way. I was really moved by the allegorical coming out story in the previous short Acrobats. Queer identity continues to be tricky to navigate in the animated space– but these French animated shorts prove how much artistic potential and power the stories have.
