CDProjekt Offers A First Look At ‘The Witcher IV’

During The Game Awards last night, CDProjekt revealed their next project: a new installment in the beloved Witcher game series. Previously known as Project Polaris, The Witcher IV will star Ciri as its main protagonist, who now operates as a Witcher. In a six-minute cinematic trailer, she is shown heading to a small village to protect a young girl from being sacrificed to a monster. In her battle, she not only uses some traditional Witcher abilities like Aard, but also some more powerful magical abilities, including a chain she charges with elemental powers.
Though the preview is entirely pre-rendered, it was made in Unreal Engine 5, and relies on in-game assets and models from The Witcher IV. Currently, no release date or platforms have been announced.
