Mind-Blowing Music: Atarashii Gakko! Calls For a Youth Revolution With ‘Change’

Atarashii Gakko! is an unconventional all-girl band. Most Japanese girl bands are designed by committee to maximize mass appeal. Atarashii Gakko! is comprised of girls who knew each other since high school– to them the band is more than just music, it is a mission. The band members are committed to creating music that encourages young people to embrace and celebrate what makes them unique. This is pretty radical coming from Japan, a country that’s known for valuing blending in and not rocking the boat. I would highly recommend paying attention to the lyrics of the song, ‘Change’. While we many be separated by distance and culture, the words resonate universally.
