Image Comics’ ‘Doll Parts: A Lovesick Tale’ #1 Sells Out And Gets A Second Printing
by Olly MacNamee
The coming-of-age horror launch Doll Parts: A Lovesick Tale #1 by artist/writer Luana Vecchio is the latest Image Comics debut issue that has sold out at the distributor level. And, as the headline announces, it’s getting a second printing. The series “delves into the origins of the infamous dominatrix, Domino, who was the lead character of Vecchio’s twisted erotic series Lovesick”. Here’s what she had to say about the news:

“I am deeply grateful for the incredible response to Doll Parts: A Lovesick Tale. I wonder how such a painful story has resonated so deeply with people. Perhaps it’s because, in some way, we’ve all been Mad—or still are. It’s painful, but also incredibly beautiful. And yet, this is just the beginning: our heroine has many challenges ahead before becoming the ruthless dominatrix we know as Domino.”
And here’s the synopsis:
“Doll Parts: A Lovesick Tale follows a twelve-year-old girl called Madeleine who dreads the idea of growing up. She fears becoming like the cruel older girls or facing the contempt of her devoutly religious mother. But most of all, she doesn’t want to become a target for the monsters that are out there, hiding in plain sight. However, a stomach-churning discovery forces Madeleine to confront the harsh reality that growing up isn’t a choice — it’s survival. As she is thrust into a world of perverted killers and unsavory websites, she has to come to terms with her own dark obsessions, leading her down the shadowy road to become the infamous Mother Demon: Domino.”
