‘Where’s Mr. ZIP?’ Enters FOC This Week

Dynamite Kids will soon be having children everywhere asking Where’s Mr. ZIP?
The once ubiquitous USPS mascot, which the Postal Service still owns, first debuted in 1963 to herald the introduction of the then-new ZIP code system. In 2023, he returned to the children’s market with Dynamite and Curiosity Ink Media’s Mr. ZIP’s Windy Day by Annie Auerbach with illustrations by Laura Catrinella as part of the Post Office’s efforts to teach kids about the world and how mail works. He also appeared in subsequent picture books since.
Now, he’s set to return again in Where’s Mr. ZIP? by Auerbach with illustrations from Elisa Patrissi. This time, though, Zippy’s travels take him across “cities, farms, an airport, construction sites, movie sets, and more in delivering everyone’s mail” and it’s up to the young reader to find nearly 150 hidden objects in Patrissi’s highly detailed depictions of his extensive route.
