Vincent Mallie’s ‘Mystery Classics Collection’ Now Live On Backerkit

Magnetic Press has launched a BackerKit campaign for the Mystery Classics Collection by comic book artist and painter Vincent Mallie. This collection brings three iconic stories to life through stunning hardcover editions. Each features original prose complemented by captivating illustrations. This collection is set to redefine the experience of three beloved tales; A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Thief by Maurice Leblanc, and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Each title in the Mystery Classics Collection features Mallie’s hand-painted artistry, offering a fresh, cinematic perspective. From full-color plates to detailed black-and-white spot illustrations, these editions are as much a feast for the eyes as they are for the imagination.
Designed to appeal to both readers and collectors alike, the collection features exclusives such as a Limited-Edition Boxed Set, complete with foil-stamped bookplates, and the Ultra-Limited “Fortune” Bundle, capped at 80 copies, which includes exclusive extras and rare collectibles. All editions feature linen-textured covers, curved corners, and premium design elements.
Neither the boxed set nor exclusive bundles will be available in retail, making this a unique opportunity for fans to own these beautifully arranged collector editions. Early supporters will unlock unique rewards and play a crucial role in the production of these visionary adaptations.
Backer rewards kick in at the $25 level for a hardcover copy of one of the three titles. A Clamshell set including all three titles clocks in at the $99 level. The big daddy backer reward in this one is the “Fortune Box Set,” which includes all three books, eight 8.5 x 11” linen cardstock art prints, two pocket bookmarks, two gold foil bookmarks, a window cling, a replica key to 221B Baker ST, a magnifying glass, a 2” metal decision coin, an evidence folder of artifacts, three postcards from America, and two golden lapel pins. The Fortune Box Set is limited to 80 backers, and costs $150.
