NHK Japan Gives Us A Deeper Look At The Life And Career Of Go Nagai

In an episode of Anime Manga Explosion we learn about Go Nagai, creator of many groundbreaking manga including Devilman, Mazinger Z, and Cutie Honey. I was first exposed to Go Nagai’s work after being blown away by Masaaki Yuasa’s Devilman Crybaby. Nagai has been a provocateur within the manga world for many years. However, even his most indulgent transgressive works helped pave the way for innovative storytelling to follow. We wouldn’t have anime series like Neon Genesis Evangelion or Magical Girl Madoka without the wicked works of Go Nagai.
