Arrow Video’s May Releases Include The Man With No Name In 4K, A Killer Virus, A Double Dose Of Jason, And More

Arrow Video’s physical media release slate in May will satisfy fans of Spaghetti Westerns, classic slashers, killer viruses, and more — with some films making their 4K UHD debut.
First up, Friday the 13th fans have not one but two reasons to celebrate in May. The series’ ninth entry went further into supernatural slasher with Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday (1993), in which un-killable masked murderer Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) does exactly what the title promises … but that’s only the beginning. The 4K UHD release, available in both the US and UK, includes both the theatrical cut and the unrated cut, brand new interviews with cast and crew, audio commentaries, a double-sided poster, an illustrated booklet, and more.
Did we say Final Friday? Apparently we were mistaken, because in 2001, Jason celebrated the new millennium by going to outer space in Jason X. Arrow’s new 4K UHD comes stocked with new and archival commentaries, a documentary, a reversible sleeve, a double-sided poster, an illustrated booklet, and more. It will be available in the US and UK.
Next in May comes The Andromeda Strain, based on an early novel by Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park) and directed by Robert Wise (The Haunting, The Sound of Music). The 1971 thriller about a enigmatic extraterrestrial virus run amok stars Arthur Hill and David Wayne. It also features acclaimed visual effects by Douglas Trumbull (2001: A Space Odyssey, Silent Running) and an eerie avant-garde electronic score by Gil Mellé. Making its 4K debut, the film was restored from the original negative and will include TBA extras, a reversible sleeve, and a collector’s booklet. Available in the US and UK.
After previously announcing a 4K UHD version of Sergio Leone’s groundbreaking A Fistful of Dollars, Arrow now turns its attention to the 1965 sequel, For A Few Dollars More, available on 4K UHD and Blu-ray in the UK only. The classic western stars Clint Eastwood as the “Man with No Name” and allowed Leone to expand his singular vision of the Old West. Presented fully uncut and newly restored in 4K, Dollars will offer new and archival bonus features, a reversible sleeve, a collector’s booklet, and more.
The cuts get deeper with the Blu-ray release of the ultaviolent Russian fairy tale Steppenwolf, directed by Adilkhan Yerzhanov (The Gentle Indifference of the World), and starring Anna Starchenko and Berik Aitzhanov. This limited edition release also includes Yerzhanov’s 2022 feature film Goliath, available for the very first time in the UK, and will also be available in the US.
Finally, May brings you the 2024 American independent horror film I Will Never Leave You Aloneon to UK-only Blu-ray. Written and directed by DW Medoff, it presents a low-budget, psychological take on the haunted house genre. The limited edition Blu-ray also includes three short films by Medoff, a reversible sleeve, and an illustrated booklet.
